Roorkee-Deoband Rail Line Now Operational
Uttarakhand rail development is progressing at a fast pace, with the 27.45 km Roorkee-Deoband railway line ready for commissioning. The new line includes modern stations at Banhera Khas and Jhabrera, improving connectivity in the region.
Construction on the 125.20 km Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail line is moving rapidly. The project features 12 stations, 35 bridges, and 17 tunnels. Work on the major tunnels is approximately 94 per cent complete, bringing the project close to completion.
Station Redevelopment Underway
Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, redevelopment work is ongoing at Harrawala, Roorkee, and Kotdwar railway stations. These upgrades aim to enhance passenger facilities and overall infrastructure at key stations.
Preparations for Ardh Kumbh
During a meeting with Moradabad Divisional Railway Manager Vineeta Srivastava, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami issued instructions. He directed that all rail and passenger facility preparations be completed on time. The aim is to ensure better amenities for devotees and travellers during the Ardh Kumbh next year.
Strategic Discussions on Rail Infrastructure
The meeting also involved detailed discussions on strengthening rail infrastructure in the state, reviewing completed and ongoing projects, and assessing future requirements to ensure efficient rail services in Uttarakhand.
