594 km Corridor to Benefit 12 Districts, 500+ Villages

The Uttar Pradesh government has fixed February 2026 as the non-negotiable deadline for completing the Ganga Expressway. During a high-level review meeting on Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to ensure the project is completed on time. He warned that any delays or negligence in execution will not be tolerated. Moreover, he underlined that timely delivery and construction quality remain the government’s top priorities.

594 km Expressway Across 12 Districts

The Ganga Expressway will span 594 kilometres, significantly strengthening statewide connectivity. The corridor will pass through 12 districts and directly benefit more than 500 villages. According to the review, the project will support industrial expansion and boost agricultural activities. It will also strengthen the logistics sector, creating new employment opportunities.

Mega Projects Driving Growth and Investment

The Chief Minister said major infrastructure projects are rapidly turning Uttar Pradesh into a key hub for economic growth and investment. He said flagship projects like the Ganga Expressway are transforming the state and must directly benefit the public.

Strict Quality Checks and Modern Standards

Officials informed the meeting that advanced technical benchmarks are being used to maintain road quality. The expressway is being tested on parameters such as the roughness and riding comfort index to ensure safe travel. The Chief Minister made it clear that construction standards cannot be compromised at any stage.

Modern Facilities Planned Along the Corridor

The expressway will have modern facilities, road safety features, clear signage, and a controlled access system. Instructions were issued to place passenger safety and convenience at the centre of project execution.

Jewar Airport Land Acquisition to be Expedited

The meeting also reviewed progress on the Noida International Airport at Jewar. Officials were directed to accelerate land acquisition for Phase 3 of the project. The Chief Minister said the airport will significantly improve the state’s global connectivity. It is also expected to attract investment and create jobs.

He added that the development of Jewar Airport will help Uttar Pradesh emerge as a major air cargo hub. Timely preparation for future phases has therefore been stressed as critical. Officials stated that once the first phase becomes operational, the airport will serve over one crore passengers annually. It will provide modern facilities to handle this passenger volume efficiently.
