Project to Move Ahead in New Year; Direct Benefit to Daily Commuters

Commuters travelling between Faridabad, Noida, and Ghaziabad may soon see long-standing traffic issues ease. Reports suggest the Faridabad–Noida–Ghaziabad (FNG) Expressway project is expected to pick up pace in the new year. Once completed, the corridor is expected to provide major relief to nearly 50,000 people who travel daily across these cities.

Travel Time to Drop from Hours to Minutes

Daily commuters, especially office-goers, face severe delays, with metro journeys taking close to two hours on regular working days. The FNG Expressway is expected to reduce travel time between the two states to just a few minutes. It will also help ease traffic congestion across the route significantly.

Yamuna Bridge Planned near Lalpur Village

The Haryana government has already listed the FNG Expressway among its flagship projects. The state’s Public Works Department (PWD) has submitted three possible route alignments to the government as part of the planning process.

As per the proposal, a bridge measuring around 600 metres is planned over the Yamuna River near Lalpur village. This structure is a key component of the expressway alignment.

    Construction of 9-km Road Section

The project plan also includes the construction of an approximately 9-kilometre-long road. This stretch is proposed to pass through Rivazpur and Tikawali villages, near a private hospital located in Sector 87.

    Rs 900 crore Budget Allocation

The FNG Expressway project file had remained pending at the Chief Minister’s Office for nearly two years. Despite multiple meetings held at various levels, progress remained stalled due to the absence of budget clearance.

A budget allocation of around Rs 900 crore had been sought for the project and has now received final approval. Officials believe this clearance could help move the project forward.

    Construction May Begin Next Year

Experts say that if the approved funds are released on time, construction of the FNG Expressway could start next year. The project is expected to provide long-awaited relief to daily commuters.
